I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology & I am fascinated with the subject of prison and incarceration and the rising prison population which has just passed 35,000 in Australia. I am also extremely passionate about increasing the numbers of women working in the technology industry. So my idea if I were President would be to set up an education program in women’s prisons to teach women how to code & design websites and mobile apps. This would mean that when they are released they can get a job and contribute to society which will help them get back on their feet and create a wonderful crime free life for themselves. This would also result in seeing an increase in women working in technology roles and a decrease in the number of women who re-offend and end up going back to prison.
